In the northeast of Slovenia lies a magical region called Prlekija. A truly beautiful place, whose nickname the Tuscany of Slovenia actually doesn't give it enough credit. A paradise indeed - there is even a town called Jeruzalem here!
This is a supreme wine growing region, an undulating coutry with vineyards on the sunny side of every hill.
We were invited to Nigi Tak (aptly named, it means Nowhere like here) holiday house in Lacaves, near Kog. A zen-like place, inviting you to do nothing at all but enjoying the view, wine and great food.
Manicured vines are full of high-quality grapes, mainly of white varieties, like Riesling, Chardonnay and local Sipon (as the legend goes, Sipon was named by Napoleon himself - after a glass of it he exclaimed "Si bon!", and the rest is history).
Soft winds barely lifted the venerable Rokkaku, but the conditions were perfect for some kite flying (and KAP) lessons - so we left the kite line in the hands of two eager young KAPers, Maša and Viktor. All kite aerial photos here are theirs!
