Flying in the Time of Plague

We are lucky.

The social distancing regulations in Slovenia still allow people to go out - provided they do it individually and keeping enough distance. But ...

... we are lucky not just because we can still go out and fly a kite. We are lucky because we have you ... our friends, kite flyers, nature and history lovers, beauty addicts, riders of the wind - with your stories and photos and plans and jokes ...

Right now we are in the midst of a giant clusterfuck of individual, local, national and global crisis. And for what we see, the response of you all is amazing. The most profound feeling right now is the one of togetherness, of conectedness, of one world. The world is getting smaller not because of all the communications and travel and pandemics and everything, but because our hearts bring everyone closer - while apart. Seems the words 'isolation' and 'desolation' really have nothing in common!.

So we fly for you who can't fly right now, and for those who still can - for you in Italy, in Spain, in France; in Singapore and India, Malaysia and Indonesia; in UK and Croatia and Netherlands and New Zealand; in Russia and USA and Ukraine and China - for all of you everywhere in the world, on any continent ... heck in Antarctica too.

One sky, one world!

These kite aerial photos show the Tivoli castle (Podturn manor - left), a neoclassical manor built in the 17th century. In the 1800s it was acquired by the Emperor Franz Joseph and presented to field marshal Radetzky (of the Radetzky March) as an imperial gift. Today Tivoli castle is the seat and the main exhibition place of the International Centre of Graphic Arts (MGLC).

Behind and above it is the 'Švicarija' - the Swiss house - a former hotel in Alpine style that now houses artists, and to the right is the former barton of the manor.

Wish you all the best.
